What is a Doula?

doula  (dou-la): an individual trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and after the birth of a child.

The role of a postpartum doula is to offer care and protection to the birthing family as they engage in the processes of healing and integration.

Their focus is on providing emotional, physical, and informational support to help the family navigate the challenges and adjustments that come with the arrival of a new little soul.

What to expect with Sacred Soul Doula

We advocate for delivering information during the prenatal period, enabling the birthing individual to make well-informed decisions.

We cover information about postpartum expectations, including healing, newborn care, feeding support, and pre-planning essentials.

Effective meal planning is essential for promoting body healing. We prepare traditional foods and healing herbal medicines to help facilitate the closing of the womb and to nourish the body, mind, and soul.

We direct individuals to suitable community and cultural resources as needed to help the birth giver physically and mentally.
